CYT Camp Leaders 2026 – Police vetting

As part our Safety Check Certification, every person who volunteers at a CYT event needs to have a completed satisfactory police vet. This process can take some time so it’s always helpful to start this as early as possible – even if your camp application hasn’t been accepted yet. Each camp leader needs to be re-vetted every three years by the Diocese. If you’re not sure when you’re due for renewal – just ask Mark. If you’ve not been vetted by us or due a renewal, please download the following form and fill it out as soon as possible.

CYT 2026 Police Vetting Form

The person vetted – ie you – fills out the whole of section two. An agency representative fills out section 1.12. An ‘agency representative’ is someone who represents the Diocese and can verify your IDs. (They need to physically see your ID in person).

Some examples of acceptable ‘agency representatives’ for the Diocese are
– Mark and Hannah in the CYT office
– Your Parish Priest/parish secretary
– Your College DRS or Chaplain.

A list of acceptable IDs are at page 7 of the document here https://www.police.govt.nz/sites/default/files/publications/nz-police-vetting-user-guide-to-pvs-vetting-request-consent-form.pdf
Once completed, please send the form (and copies of the ID) back to mcurrie@cdoc.nz If you know that a police vet will produce a result, please let the camp co-ordinator know (in the strictest confidence.) Depending on the nature of the police vet result, this will not automatically disqualify you from being able to come to camp.
