Workshop Description
Knowing what we can draw on, which sources to trust and how to get help for the young people we care so much about can be very difficult especially in the context of mental health and addictions. In this workshop we will explore some initial answers to support you do what you do best.
Speaker Bio
Josiah is a 25 year old afakasi Samoan New Zealander who lives in Ōtautahi Christchurch. He collect historical stories, build lego Star Wars ships and work to elevate Pacific peoples, multicultural peoples and young peoples voices so that we are visible and influential in decision making. Josiah is most proud of being involved in the creation of “He Ara Oranga” which was result of the independent review of our mental health and addictions systems that I assisted our Government with in 2018. Also along the journey he and his friends created PYLAT to advocate for Pacific young peoples voices in all worlds and more. Outside of his community mahi he is a company board member and part-time hustler.
