Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa

Workshop Description

This workshop is light overview of The Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa New Zealand which defines key values and standards for youth workers in Aotearoa New Zealand. Developed around the six principles of the Youth Development Strategy Aotearoa. We will go over these principles be better better able to do ethical youth work practice and has practical examples of how they might apply in your youth work.

Speaker Bio

Angelina is a part of the Parenting Place as Building Awesome Whānau Team Lead. Before joining Parenting Place she managed a youth trust and has worked in the youth sector for 17 years predominantly on the Eastside of Christchurch within local, faith based and education arena . Angelina has a strong focus on positive outcomes for Maori and Pasifika, is passionate about grass roots youth development. Angelina also has an interest in seeing Youth Workers strengthen in their practice and own well-being so is a part of the CYWC Committee and is a Youth Work Supervisor and Strengths Finders coach so they are stronger in their practice for better outcomes for our Taiohi.
