CYT Youth (yr 11-13) and Young Adult (age 18-35) Ministry Formation

What is FRONTLINE Discipleship Programme?

Frontline is the Catholic Youth Team’s youth and young adult’s formation programme that aims to lead young people to a life of intentional discipleship and inspire them to get involved with youth ministry movements in their Parish and Diocese.

What does FRONTLINE focus on?

Commitment: Making a firm, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and living out the Catholic Faith in all areas of our lives.
Prayer: Developing and sustaining a habit of daily personal prayer and nurturing this through Eucharistic adoration and regular confession.
Fellowship: Spending time and having fun with other Young Catholics, sharing our journey of faith with one another.
Formation: Receiving sound teachings in areas that will enrich our personal, spiritual and intellectual development.
Evangelisation: Sharing the Gospel with others and encouraging them to embrace Christ and His Church.

What is the commitment of FRONTLINE?

There are some commitments for the youth and young adults involved in this programme, including raising the money for $100.00 sponsorship fee, attending a camp, five workshops and a retreat over a three month period, meeting regularly with a mentor, communicating and updating their Parish on their formation progress, and actively participating in parish or diocese Youth Ministry.

frontline camp

The programme kicks off with an inspiring Formation camp (2019 camp and venue to be confirmed). The camp will focus on all the five aspects of Frontline:
Commitment PrayerFellowship Formation | Evangelisation
The youth and young adults are led to these focuses through talks, small groups, prayer, team building, the Sacraments, Praise and Worship, obstacle courses, praise at the beach and much more.

Frontline Workshops

The programme continues throughout a three month period in the form of six workshops. A typical workshop would include times of:
Fellowship; prayer, food and discussion time.
Proclaim presented by a guest speaker which consists of a theological teaching followed by reflection, journaling and small group time.
Active Ministry which is a practical skills class aimed at equipping leaders in youth ministry.
Sending Forth which consists of a challenge or an inspiring message for the month.
