you are called
CYT Youth (yr 11-13), Young Adult (age 18-30) and EXALT Music Ministry formation programme.
We are excited to announce that from 2017 Frontline (senior school students), School of the New Evangelisation
(young adults) and EXALT Music Ministry Team Nights (musicians) are merging into
Frontline Discipleship Programme – a streamed formation programme.
What is FRONTLINE Discipleship Programme?
Frontline is the Catholic Youth Team’s youth and young adult’s formation programme that aims to lead young people to a life of intentional discipleship and inspire them to get involved with youth ministry movements in their Parish and Diocese.
What does FRONTLINE focus on?
Commitment: Making a firm, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and living out the Catholic Faith in all areas of our lives.
Prayer: Developing and sustaining a habit of daily personal prayer and nurturing this through Eucharistic adoration and regular confession.
Fellowship: Spending time and having fun with other Young Catholics, sharing our journey of faith with one another.
Formation: Receiving sound teachings in areas that will enrich our personal, spiritual and intellectual development.
Evangelisation: Sharing the Gospel with others and encouraging them to embrace Christ and His Church.
What is the commitment of FRONTLINE?
There are some commitments for the youth and young adults involved in this programme, including raising the money for $100.00 sponsorship fee, attending a camp and eight workshops throughout the year, meeting regularly with a mentor who is ideally their Youth Leader or Parish Priest, communicating and updating their Parish on their formation progress, and actively participating in parish or diocese Youth Ministry.
The programme kicks off with an inspiring Formation camp in Woodend on the 24 – 26 Feb 2017. The camp will focus on all the four aspects of Frontline:
Commitment | Prayer | Fellowship | Formation | Evangelisation
The youth and young adults are led to these focuses through talks, small groups, prayer, team building, the Sacraments, Praise and Worship, obstacle courses, praise at the beach and much more.
The programme continues throughout the year in the form of eight workshops. A typical workshop would include times of:
Fellowship; prayer, food and discussion time.
Proclaim presented by a guest speaker which consists of a theological teaching followed by reflection, journaling and small group time.
Active Ministry which is a practical skills class aimed at equipping leaders in youth ministry.
Sending Forth which consists of a challenge or an inspiring message for the month.
The workshop will end with praise and worship consisting of Adoration, prayer, and music led by CYT’s Exalt Music Ministry.
